Reading Your Scriptures is Like Eating Beans and Rice

Hello friends and family!!! Yesterday, I was thinking about how a member in Brazil once told me "reading your scriptures is like eating rice and beans, you just can't go a day without!"  At the time I thought it was so funny, but now I feel the same way! I love eating rice and beans everyday! It feels wrong to go a day without, just like reading the scriptures!

These last two weeks have been good, and although we have not had any luck with people progressing, I have been able to continue learning. I am happy to be a missionary and learning more about the gospel and new skills that I will use my whole life.

This week we were trying to find a person's house to visit. So we put their address in google maps, which said it was a 30 minute walk. We were like sweet, close! So we started walking and let me tell you, it was NOT a 30 minute walk. We walked for over an hour passing goats, cows, horses and chicken on the roads! Then we finally got there to find out the address that she had given us was wrong! So then we made a few street contacts and called it good haha!

I tried real Brazilian BBQ for the first time! It was so yummy!  I also purchased a ukulele to learn how to play on p-days.

A huge highlight for me the last 2 weeks was General Conference! I loved hearing our prophet speak to the whole world! He talked about 5 things we can all do to maintain positive and spiritual momentum!

1. Get on the covenant path and stay there.
2. Discover the joy of daily repentance.
3. Learn about God and how He works.
4. Seek and expect miracles.
5. End conflicts in your personal life.

He also announced a temple in my mission!!! Maceió, Brazil!!

Lots of love,
       Sister Ward
