The Spirit is so Strong
What's up?!! These last two weeks have been really busy! We have an AMAZING group of people we are teaching and have lots of back to back in person lessons every day!!! Some of them live close but other live very far. Luckily I like to walk!
These last few weeks we have been teaching two men who are good friends! One of them has gone to church 3 times and the other has attend 2 times. We invited them to be baptized this week and put them on a date for this Saturday!! It's cool to watch their testimonies grow. The spirit is so strong when we teach them. They are really strong members of a different church, but are really receptive and say that our church is more "complete".
We also got to set a baptism date for someone Sister Gomes (my first companion) and I taught all the lessons to awhile back. His last baptism date fell through cause he was 17 and his parents didn't allow him to be baptized. He recently turned 18 and still has a desire to be baptized into the church. His date is this Friday!
I am so grateful for all of the people we are teaching right now. They all are so different and learn in different ways and it's fun to learn from them too. One lady taught us some tips on how to garden! Another guy told us to never use our phone in a specific part of our area cause he said girls get mugged there and that he thought of our safety. Sweet of him to think of us!
One family we are teaching has 3 huge pet tortoises!!! Crazy!
I am currently in loveeeee with açaí! This week I ate açaí 2 times. It's just so good. For those of you who don't know what it is it's like a frozen smoothie bowl that you can put anything you want on. My favorite is bananas, granola and m&ms!
We had a service project this week with our district! We got to serve out soup for those in need. It was a really fun service project. Too bad our district didn't get a photo with our hair nets!
I am loving serving here in Brazil! I love the people, the culture, the language and I love the gospel of Jesus Christ!
Hope you guys have a great week!
Lots of love,
Sister Ward
