Stories and Pictures of the Week

The museum we planned to visit for p-day wasn't open but we found some cool things to do close. And we bought subway and bobs shakes. Also our mission allowance didn't come through yet so we are poor. But I took out some of the money on my card. I bought a 2 liter bottle of coconut water and he cut the coconut open for me to eat while he was pouring the water into the bottle! Only 8 reis!

Here are some stories from the past week or so.

1. We invited a guy named Jorge to be baptized who is like almost 70 and the spirit was so strong and his son is a member and he has had SO many missionaries who have taught him and it has never gone right but he said yes for the 26th!!!  He calls me Minnesota haha.

2. We found a couple named Valdir and Marcilene and they are amazing! Valdir is sooo funny! We met them cause they had just moved into a house where the guy before that lived there was calling spirit and stuff into the house and had a white tile where he buried things to call spirits and he painted arrows and weird marks on the walls. And there was so much candle wax on the walls and burnt marks and weird stuff. Anyway they wanted us to say a prayer with them and ask god to bless the house. We did and shared a message and it was so powerful and they loved it and they said if they liked church they were gonna go every week because they have been wanting a religion and Valdir said he would invite everyone he knows there if he liked it. And they went on Sunday and they loved it!!!! Marcilene even cried! Only thing is that they are not married. Marcilene wants more time to make sure it's "right" even though they have been together 26 years!!!!!???? But yeah they are great.

3. We taught a lesson to a guy who is really catholic. He didn't have any other women in his house so we had to just stand in the front of his house and teach L1 and we taught it in like 15 min and then he talked for and hour and 15 minutes about how Jesus had appeared to him and told him secrets that he couldn't tell us but that he also said to stay in the catholic church and then he said when he held the BOM we gave him for the first time he felt like it was evil and not true. And cause we had walked all day and were standing there my legs were dying i wanted to leave so bad haha.

4. I have had soooo many people talking to me in English randomly in the street! They just yell "hello" and "I love you" and its normally all kids and its so cute! This week I had a group of like 15 kids at the same time say "hello" to me! Haha!
