I Love Serving the Lord

Hey everyone!!! How is it going? These last 2 weeks have seriously flown by and they have been great!  We have had lots of lessons in person this week, which is my favorite. We have met some great people and are excited to keep meeting with them. We invited a total of 20 people to church this last week and we had 6 people attend yesterday!!! It was a miracle!! Two of them are guys who are in their 40s. We had met them just a few days before in the street and we gave them a Book of Mormon and read a part with them. The spirit was very strong and they accepted our invitation to go to church. It was awesome to see them both walk up to the church in church clothes yesterday! They have some church friends now too as many members introduced themselves!

This past week all of our lunches from members consisted of them giving us money, which has given us the opportunity to try different restaurants! Our new favorite restaurant is a family run business in a small house. The food is yummy, greatly priced and we love the owner. He has had this restaurant for almost 30 years! He treats us like we are his grandkids haha. We also went to another place that had hamburgers! I ordered a hamburger and fresh orange juice and the workers were joking around that the "American ordered a hamburger."

A funny story this week happened while we were sharing a lesson with a couple. We suddently got interrupted by the wife. She said she had received revelation and she needed to share something with us. She then commented on our fingernails and said they were beautiful. Sister Oliviera had painted her nails and was like "thanks!" I was like "mine aren't as pretty" (cause I don't have any nail polish). Then she said that mine were prettier and it is a sin to use nail polish. She told Sister Oliveira to repent and to pray about it. We just kinda sat there quietly. It was funny!

In that same street we had someone tell us they had an evil spirit in them and asked us to pray with them. I prayed and then we said goodbye, a little creepy.

We also passed a woman who was giving away free puppies. They were so so cute and I pet them all. Sadly it's against the rules to have a puppy on the mission haha.

So yeah! I have been doing great! I love serving the Lord and meeting lots of people! I know this is God's work and I am grateful to be helping.

Take care!
Sister Ward
