God Knows His Children Better Than We Do
Hey all!! The last 2 weeks have been great!! I am thriving in Brazil! I am starting to understand Portuguese better and can definitely see my progress, which is encouraging! I can't wait to be fluent!
Something really cool is that my companion and I had the great opportunity to teach a very sweet 10 year old and invite him to be baptized!!! He got baptized last Friday and it was such a special moment. The spirit was so strong and eeeek I am so happy for him!!!!!
Another cool thing happened earlier this week during street contacts! I had a very strong feeling to talk to this random guy across a park we were contacting at. So we walked over to him and I started a conversation asking him about his day and what not. As we got into talking more turns out he had lots of questions about the church because he had met with missionaries 13 years ago! It was awesome to be able to help answer his questions and also see that it is important to listen to promptings we have. God knows his children better than we do.
Last p-day my Dad figured out how to order stuff from a grocery store near me and have things delivered. Last week was my one month of being in Brazil so he sent me and my companion a lot of things. That was very fun. I will attach a picture!
A cool thing about Brazil is there is lots of small businesses. One cool small business that I think the US should copy is guys on motorcycles that sell bags of cotton candy for 25 cents. It's like a cooler version of ice-cream trucks but with cotton candy.
Yesterday I gave a talk in one of my wards! I was very nervous about it but it went good! Everyone in this ward is so nice, I love them all. I had lots of people after tell me they could understand every word and that I did very good.
No one here celebrates Halloween but Sister Gomes and I decorated her mini Christmas tree and made Halloween ornaments.
I saw monkeys this last week!!! They were so cute and they were running on a wall and then jumped to a tree. Very cool!! I wanna hold one, but they probably aren't as nice as they look.
Hope you guys are doing great! Have a fantastic week!!!
Love,
Sister Ward
